Hello Boards Users. Wanted to give you a quick heads up that this weekend, we'll be migrating our boards database behind the scenes, which may cause strange behavior between 10PM ET on Sunday, 2/10 and mid-Monday 2/11.

This is what you can expect. Your saved preferences, favorite boards and signatures will be unavailable during the migration. You will also not be able to save any preferences changes during this time. Rest assured that they all will return as soon as the migration period is over on Monday -- at least that's what they tell me.

You will be able to read and post while all this is going on.

Personally, I chose to make my WeeMee a Ravenclaw, complete with pet dragon and wand. Our friends at WeeWorld have added magical accessories, including clothes, witches hats, fantasy pets and more. Change your WeeMee and let me know what you added.

Uploading a Custom Buddy Icon Using AIM 6.x:

1. Create your personal Buddy Icon, or download one from off the Web. Either way, save it your computer, to a place where you can easily find it again.

Important Note on Buddy Icons:
* Buddy Icons have to be sized 48x48 pixels
* Supported file types are GIF (including animated GIF), BMP and JPG
* Buddy Icons must be under 7K in file size

2. Open the AIM 6.x software

3. Under the Edit menu, choose Settings... (or press F7):

We added a new SuperBuddy icon to our library. it's a blue dragon with a British accent. I think he's cute.

Sweet! I am happy to announce that our beloved AIM BuddyBlog is getting a new home as part of the newly created (and much fabulous) Social Media Blog. We've been blogging about all-things-AIM since November'ish when we launched our BuddyBlog. If you're an AIM fan, you are also likely a fan of all-things-social and networking related, so we're hoping you'll find all the information you'll get here is relevant and interesting to you, your world and your buddies.

We'll continue to let you know about new buddy icons, plugins and beta releases of the client. Fear not, you can still get your fix. I'm also hoping that you'll meet some new friends and get to meet some new bloggers.
