Reminder: AIM Pages Changes Are Coming
Hi folks -- at the end of September, we sent out the following e-mail to all AIM Pages users; it has important information about the upcoming AIM Pages transition (when AIM Pages profiles will be moved over to the new AIM Profiles system).
We're getting closer to the actual transition (exact dates TBD), so in case you didn't see the e-mail or just sat on it, please re-read the mail below.
While the team is working to make sure the transition goes smoothly, if you have any irreplaceable photos stored in your AIM Pages profile, you might want to take the opportunity to back them up.
Additionally, people who customized their profiles with modules in Advanced Edit Mode should pay particular attention to #3, in case you need to back up content in non-standard modules.
Thanks -- Joe
Dear AIM Pages User –
When changes are coming, you should be the first to know. You've asked for improved ways to describe yourself to others, and we've listened. The AIM team is working hard to add features to allow you to better stay in touch with the people you know and find new folks who share your interests.
Starting in October, we will begin to upgrade your AIM Page by moving it into a new, improved system. We will maintain as much of the content that you have created as possible; however, there are some key changes that you should be aware of:
1) What the New System Will Have: Don't worry, you'll still have your favorite AIM goodies such as Buddies, Comments, Privacy Settings, Photos and more. We're keeping the good stuff, and making it even easier to use.
2) Photos: We know you're going to love our all-new photo experience, and we've been working hard to ensure there won't be any hiccups as we make the change. We know how important your photographs are to you. Even though you've heard over and over again that you should make backup copies of your irreplaceable photos, we know some of you procrastinate -- so there's no better time than the present. Please take this opportunity to make sure you have copies of all your photos, just in case.
3) Advanced Edit Mode: If you have ever played in Advanced Edit Mode to customize your AIM Page, you will need to manually back up information that you added to non-standard modules. Advanced Edit Mode included the dragging and dropping of new modules, a number of customized themes and the ability to add your own code to your page. This mode will not initially be on the new system, so all custom module information will be lost. If you have written code that you would like to save, please take some time, as soon as possible, to make yourself a copy of that code.
4) Finding Your AIM Page: Not to worry ... The link that you currently have for your AIM Page (www.aimpages.com/SCREENNAME/profile.html) will automatically be redirected as part of the changes that we're making. Anyone who looks for you won't have a problem finding you at all, as any existing bookmarks and links will continue to work just fine.
5) And Finally ... Expect to find a great new look and feel for your profile. You're in the right place, and we hope you like the new design!
The AIM team has been working hard all summer to make sure that your profile experience is simple, fun and compelling. In addition to all of the other fantastic changes, we're changing our name to AIM Profiles. Why? Because it's your AIM Profile. Duh on us.
Of course, we won't leave you hanging. We've outlined these updates in even more detail so that you can dig further into what's coming. We'll continue to update the information there as we move closer to our launch date so that you are completely up to speed at all times.

6. I have a question, how do you switch over to advanced edit from quick edit. It's driving me mad and every time I try clicking the "advanced edit" thing it either redirects me to help or to the edit page of quick edit.
